The hotel cleanliness issues that frustrate us most
6th of September 2019A survey in the UK has shed light on the cleanliness issues we are most likely to complain about if we encounter them in a hotel room.
End of Tenancy London found the majority of the 1,448 people surveyed feel inclined to complain if they can clearly spot stains on the bed (bed linen, mattress etc) and towels (81 per cent) of their hotel room. Extensive mould in the bathroom would be a cause of concern for 78 per cent of travellers.
Considering holidaymakers want to make themselves as comfortable as possible by unpacking and organising their belongings, 70 per cent would complain if they found the cupboards or drawers in their hotel room to be overly dirty/stained.
Sixty-six per cent would make a complaint if they experienced any unpleasant odours coming from the air conditioning unit, while 62 per cent would have a grievance if the showerhead, toilet and/or tap were coated in limescale.
Only 25 per cent would complain about dirty curtains, while 29 per cent would make an issue about stained carpet.
